Everyone turned a new leaf in their life, after their marriage, such a special marriage ceremony makes everyone excited to perform their wedding in a dignified manner but with limited financial sources families are unable to meet the higher costs associated with the wedding plans of their daughter's marriages. Keeping this in view the government of Andhrapradesh offered a one-time financial assistance to the bride family group belonging to economically backward sections of SC/ST/BC/Minority(other than muslims)/Differently abled/Building and Other Construction workers under the scheme YSR Kalyanamasthu and YSR Shaadi Tohfa for muslim minorities.

Objective of this Scheme:

This marriage related incentive scheme is incomparable in the matter of encouraging girls education, and promote gender equality and preventing early age marriages until they get legal age. While the eligible brides and their families are deeply thankful to the AP Government for providing extensive support under YSR Kalyanamasthu and Shaadi Tohfa scheme.

Update: (17-07-2023) Ap Government recently changed four muslim groups category such as Noor Basha, Dudekula, Pinjari, Ladaf from so far existing in Backward class category under the subdivision BC-b into parent group minority. Hence, today onwards those are getting money Rs 1,00,000 instead of Rs 50,000

Who are the Beneficiaries of the Scheme?

Under the scheme of "YSR Kalyanamasthu" and "YSR Shaadi Tohfa", the eligible Mother of the bride is entitled to receive financial assistance. In case, where, the mother of the bride is death or is not available, the Father of the bride is eligible for the Financial Assistance. In case both of them are not available, then the guardian of the female spouse will be eligible for the incentive.

In the case of Inter Caste Marriages, Financial Assistance will be released to the Bride as prescribed above.

Eligibility Criteria:

01AgeAccording to the Child Marriage Act, the minimum age for Bride is 18 years and the minimum age for Bridegroom is 21 years shall have completed as on the date of marriage.
02Number of MarriagesOnly for 1st marriage, except in the case of widows. (Widowers are not eligible).
03Educational QualificationsBride and the Bridegroom shall have passed 10th Class.
04Income CriteriaThe families of both the bride and the bridegroom should satisfy below conditions:
  1. Income should not exceed RS.10,000/- per month in rural areas and Rs.12,000/- per month in urban areas.
  2. Land holding should be less than 3 acres of wet land or 10 acres of dry land or 10 acres of wet and dry land put together.
  3. No family member should be a Government Employee/Pensioner, including Central Government/PSU/other State Governments/Government Organizations. The families of Sanitary Workers are Exempted
  4. Should not own a four-wheeler vehicle (taxis, tractors, and autos are exempted)
  5. Monthly electricity consumption (average of 12 months) should be less than 300 unnits.
  6. No member of either of the family should be an Income Tax payee
  7. In Municipal areas, should not own property more than 1,000 sq.Ft. of built-up area.

Who are Ineligible?

  • If the Male spouse belongs to other than Andhra Pradesh state
  • Both Wife and Husband must pass 10th class either regular or supplementary otherwise ineligible
  • OC caste female family except for BOCWWB member

How to apply online for YSR Kalyanamasthu/YSR Shaadi Tohfa?

Prescribed application process can be done online either approach the DA/WEDPS in the Secretariat or Directly proceed through the NBM portal till 30 days time period after marriage by uploading the necessary documents.

YSR Kalyanamasthu & YSR Shaadi Tohfa amount release date:

Financial assistance under the scheme will be released, after qualifying field verification by WEA and satisfying Six-Step validation of the applications for every quarter in the months of February, May, August and November to the Mothers of eligible female spouse beneficiaries.
